Former Florida Marlins Pitcher Smith to Manage Battle Angels
The North American Fall League welcomes former Florida Marlins Major Leaguer, Manager Chuck Smith. Smith will be at the helm of the Battle Angels for the 2026 NAFL Inaugural Season.
Smith was drafted by the Montreal Expos in 1989, though he didn’t sign and was later signed as an un-drafted free agent with the Houston Astros in 1991. His professional pitching career spanned multiple seasons and leagues from Taiwan, Korea, American Independent Leagues, MiLB and Major League Baseball with the Florida Marlins in 2000-2001. Smith served as the Boston Red Sox’ Minor League Lancaster JetHawks Pitching Coach, in 2008.
Smith brings invaluable professional baseball and Major League experience to the North American Fall League’s Battle Angels squad, in 2026.
